4 Habits to Strengthen your Faith

Author: Memos Sakellariou
{1 Tim. 4:7}
“…discipline yourself for godliness.”
If you want God to use you, then strengthen your faith. In the Holy Bible, the Apostle Paul asks Timothy to discipline himself.
Have you ever woken up, seriously thinking, “Today I need to exercise?” The truth is that we all need both physical and spiritual exercise. Also, I believe that everyone who exercises wants to achieve the best they can from every minute of exercise. Therefore, to help you achieve the best you can from your spiritual exercise, I will give you 4 spiritual habits that will strengthen your faith.
1. Study the Word of God.
Start studying the Word of God personally. You cannot depend on someone else’s study to strengthen your faith. You must do it yourself. See what the Word says:
{2 Tim. 3:16-17}
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
The Holy Bible provides practical instructions for living a blessed and fruitful life. If you want to be prepared for God to use you, then start studying His Word.
2. Read Christian books
{Prov. 19:8}
“He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will find good.“
When you read Christian books, you gain knowledge and find great help from people of God who have walked the path of faith. You gain experience and simultaneously see how people of God face challenges.
3. Write your testimony.
The Bible tells us:
{1 Pet. 3:15}
“but ‘sanctify Christ as Lord’ in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense with meekness and fear to everyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.”
No one else can tell your story but you.
There are 4 parts to a testimony:
-Where your life was before you knew Christ.
-How you realized you needed Christ.
-How you dedicated your life to the Lord.
-And what your life is like now.
Therefore, consider these 4 stages and see where exactly you stand. Do you remember them, or have you lost your way somewhere?
Therefore, write or share your testimony with anyone who asks you about your faith.
4. Join a home group
{1 Thess. 5:11}
“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you are doing.”
When we talk about strengthening faith, few things can compare to joining a home group. If you do not belong to one, then seek to find one and unite with your brethren. Find people with whom you can share your lives, support one another in difficult times, and grow together.
The growth of faith requires practice, and every form of practice requires life discipline and perseverance.
