God is a Prayer Away

Editor Amalthea Karali-Giannari
Do you also know people who know everything about the life of the idol they admire? From where they hang out and what they wear to what they eat for breakfast or what ‘routine’ they follow every morning for their facial cleansing! However, even if they know all these details about their idol’s life, does that mean they truly know them? Does it mean they have built a relationship? The answer is emphatically: no.
This is also how it is with our relationship with God. Knowing things about God does not automatically mean you know Him. Relationships are built through communication—and indeed, two-way communication! If you want to know God, take time to read your Bible (in modern Greek, so you understand!), as these are His inspired words for you. Then find a quiet place to talk to Him. Just as you would talk to a friend. But don’t leave in a hurry! Wait to hear what He has to say to you too…
Through prayer, God will soften your heart and make it like that of a child, ready for obedience and love. This is the goal, because Jesus was clear: ‘Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of God.’ Here’s a tip: there will be times when you get up from the ‘divine appointment’ and realize that the situation troubling you has not changed. However, something more important will have changed: your own heart towards the situation. Don’t postpone it, God is a prayer away!
